Pistol Fundamentals class will be in the classroom as well as on the range. This class focuses the new shooter on safety first. Other topics include range etiquette, firearm handling, loading & unloading, dry fire practice, as well as the fundamentals of shooting including how to present the weapon, aim and fire. Class size and competency will determine the flow and speed of material covered. Safety, learning, and fun in a casual and stress free environment.

Pistol and strong side outside-the-waistband holster. Holster must completely cover the trigger guard and be stiff enough to re-holster the firearm with one hand. No cross draw or shoulder holsters.
150 rounds of ammo for your firearm (factory loaded full metal jacket or practice ammo,).
A sturdy belt (at least 1.5” wide) that allows for the gun/holster to be hung from your strong side. (A half inch fashion belt is not strong enough to support a gun/holster.)
Magazine/ammunition pouch and 3 magazines for your firearm.
Remember to bring eye protection and hearing protection (electronic preferred).
Please bring your own lunch, snacks, and water or beverage of choice (no alcohol). Lastly, have a good attitude and an open mind.

Service caliber pistols are preferable including .380, .357 sig, 9mm, 10mm, .40 and .45 caliber. No .22 or .50 caliber pistols or revolvers. If in doubt, contact the instructor.

Long pants, boots or tennis shoes (closed toe), crew neck shirt (no tank top or v-neck shirts). Hot brass down the shirt can cause burns. Ball cap. Clothing appropriate for the weather as it can be +/- 10 degrees different from Boise/Meridian in the desert.

Rental pistol and holster in 9mm or .380 is available for $10. 9mm and .380 ammo available for purchase at current prices. Contact the instructor with questions or for rental.

There is a classroom portion before hitting the range. The instructor will contact you after signing up for location of class and range, which can vary in location.

Yes, if you are at least 18 years old, a citizen of the United States or a current member of the United States Armed Forces, and you are not disqualified under Idaho law from obtaining a concealed weapons license for a reason other than not having attained 21 years of age.
If you conceal carry, at no time, unless your life is in danger, may you unholster your firearm in the classroom.

Please give 48 hours notice for rescheduling if unable to attend. The other option is to transfer the class to another student. There is a minimum student policy for each class. If The Warrior Within (TWW) cancels class due to weather, minimum student policy or any other reason, the student will have the option of rescheduling or getting a full refund. Cancellation is via email: please ensure you register with the correct email. TWW is not responsible for travel or other related expenses.
